Little Hell Flames (c) 2014 GLYF.

I am also a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators as well as the author and

illustrator of two picture books.  I hope to get my books out there!

Look for me on Instagram @gaylepainting and Twitter @glyfisher (although my resolution is to

My painting "Little Hell Flames" was selected as a winner in the Light Space and Time Gallery ("LST")

All Women Art Competition.  This was my first time competing outside of the Chicago area!

I was also honored to receive an Honorable Mention in LST's Botanical Art Compeition for "Sunkissed"

and again for "Lobster Beach."  (Sunkissed is still available, the others can be made to order in prints!

A solo show at THC closed with my selling eight paintings!  A new show is on the books!

Since then, my art has been featured at the Gallery at the River Forest Library, the Gallery at the Main Oak Park Library, the Buzz Cafe, the Oak Park Art League, Harrison Works, Tamale Hut Cafe (THC), juried art fairs, on-line competitions as well as the Chicago Sun-Times and Oak Park-River Forest Patch.

Nature, water, butterflies, flowers and natural light (especially sunsets and sunrises) inspire me.

I love Frida Kahlo and recently trekked out to Arizona to see her work up close and personal.  I am also

inspired by Gauguin, Van Gogh and O'Keefe.  I've been painting professionally since May 2012, when

my solo show opened at Harrison Works, a gallery located in the Oak Park Arts District

I practiced law for nearly 20 years before retiring to pursue my dreams of art!  That's my professional "headshot" taken for the RAW art show.
